Die Cut Gift Tags: Creative Uses Beyond Gifts

Quick Answer

Die cut gift tags are versatile enough to serve as bookmarks, mini ornaments, scrapbook embellishments, and even wall art—so you can enjoy their charm long after the gift is opened.

Diagnosis: When Your Gift Tag Isn't Just for Gifts

• Symptom: You have a beautiful die cut gift tag that feels too nice to throw away after the gift is opened.
• Likely Cause: The tag's high-quality materials, unique shape, and decorative foil details make it a natural fit for repurposing projects.
• Corrective Action: Repurpose the tag as a bookmark, a mini ornament for a small plant or tree, a scrapbook or journal embellishment, a gift tag for a future present (reuse it), or a tiny piece of wall art in a frame. Check that the tag is clean and undamaged before reusing. If the string is frayed, replace it with a new ribbon or twine.
• Stop / Choose Another Option: Stop if the tag is made from thin or single-ply paper that tears easily, or if you need a waterproof decoration. In those cases, use the tag as intended on a gift and recycle it afterward.
